September 11, 1973: The Day Salvador Allende Died

(11 de September de 1973: El día en el que Salvador Allende murió)

In the early hours of Tuesday, September 11, 1973, Santiago de Chile woke up to the sound of military planes. That day, a U.S.-backed coup led by General Augusto Pinochet ousted Chile’s democratically elected president, Salvador Allende. Allende died in the palace a few hours later. This play depicts the last hours of his life.

Performed in English.
