El Rey de Francia is an original play written by Fermín Reina and co-directed by Pablo Andrade and veteran actor Dimas González. This production was premiered for the first time in the V Hispanic Theater Festival and received several awards including HOLA Award and ACE Award as Best Actor. El Rey de Francia tells the story of a Shakespearean actor that starts to lose his mental sanity. Garrick confuses Alfredo (a young journalist) who seeks Garrick to interview him backstage with an actor who is expected to audition. In the middle of the interview, the old man subjects him through several acting tests to prove his skills in the job; meanwhile the young man deals with personal doubts and insecurities. Fears, past loves, and secrets will drive to confront their inner demons in the middle of an interview that must take place and a show that must go on.
Winner of Latin ACE Award 2016 and HOLA Award Special Recognition
